Abstract
Factoring has become wellestablished
one in developing
countries, particularly highly
industrialized one. In various Asian
countries, the growth of factoring
has been dramatic while in Latin
America, financial institutions
continue to join the industry.
Similar growth has occurred in
Central Europe, the Baltic’s and the
Middle East. Today, almost every
industry can profit from factoring.
Textiles and clothing are the most
popular but manufacturers of
industrial and farm equipment,
office equipment, electronics and
processed food are increasingly
turning to factoring. In fact, it has
become a great source of finance
for running the business very
successfully. The present paper is
a modest attempt to discuss the
conceptual framework,
international and Indian
experience of Factoring along with
the future of Factoring services in
India.
